EMERES, a leader in emergency call handling and dispatch solutions, has selected NextNav, the leader in vertical location positioning, to bring mission-critical z-axis location, 3D visualization and integrations to First Responders.
EMERES offers emergency call handling and dispatch solutions designed to meet the needs of 9-1-1 Call Centers, Law Enforcement, Fire and EMS agencies worldwide. Its Cirrus Public Safety Platform melds robust computer-aided dispatch (CAD) and NG9-1-1 capabilities with an unparalleled ability to customize for specific needs. Through the Cirrus platform, public safety agencies will gain a new level of situational awareness in a cloud-native, plug-in centric solution leveraging NextNav’s Pinnacle altitude service for incoming calls, dispatch, emergency responders and citizen requests – providing vertical location information to improve response to emergency callers and situations. Off-the-shelf, quick connection interfaces to NextNav’s services will be available in the new PSAPP Market, an extensive collection of applications and interfaces specially curated for Cirrus platform customers.
“In a Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) environment, everything is critically dependent on location,” says Jarret Winkelman, Vice President of the U.S. Market at EMERES. “While the x and y coordinates have become the crux for routing decisions and dispatching to an incident, the z-axis is truly the ‘Holy Grail’ our clients have needed. We recognized the criticality of vertical location and, with NextNav’s Pinnacle service, designed the Cirrus platform to not only include Pinnacle for location of callers and responders, but also visualize it in 3D. We are so pleased to be able to offer this complete solution to accurately reflect the 3D world around us and save more lives.”
“For years we have talked about getting to a ‘single pane of glass’ experience where agencies have a choice of plug-ins and integrations over a distributed architecture,” said Rob Clark, NextNav’s Sr Director of Public Safety. “With the Cirrus platform from EMERES, agencies will be able to not only ingest NextNav’s z-axis location service, but also leverage our Pinnacle 3D visualization to truly bring the incident into a tactical, contextual common operating picture. We are thrilled to work with EMERES and their clients on Cirrus and Strata as we continue to bring mission-critical vertical location services to where and when they matter most to improve emergency outcomes.”
The Pinnacle network delivers precise vertical location in more than 4,400 cities and towns in the United States – capturing 90% of buildings greater than three stories. NextNav Pinnacle powers applications across the public safety community to support stronger situational awareness for first responders. NextNav has also been selected by multiple wireless carriers to provide vertical location for 9-1-1 emergency callers. Pinnacle is also being deployed nationwide across Japan, and NextNav recently launched a Pinnacle testbed near Paris, France.
